Dinner time by ZephyraMilie Dinner time by ZephyraMilie
This image is part of my "artivism" project of artworks made with plastic (mostly) waste I collect on the shores of Lake Leman, Switzerland. I aim to explore the relationship between waste and nature as well as to bring awareness on waste in nature and consumption issues. I find most of the plastic on the shores of a nature reserve (Les Grangettes) protected under the RAMSAR Convention as an area of international and national importance for migratory and water birds. Every year we unfortunately have to clean the reserve from tons of waste coming from Lake Leman or the river Rhone, before the birds start to nest and before the migratory birds start over their long journey. An important percentage of waste comes from sewage treatment plants as many people unfortunately throw away single-use plastics in the toilets (cotton-bud sticks, tampon applicators, pads, condoms, etc). The majority of plastic waste found on the shores of Lake Leman and on beaches worldwide is single-use plastic.

Dinner time by ZephyraMilie is a fascinating conceptual photograph whose description tells an important story. ( Featured by Mrs-Durden )
:iconamayah360:
“If you ask me what I came to do in this world, I, an artist, will answer you: I am here to live out loud.” (noun: abstract art; plural noun: abstract arts)

art that does not attempt to represent external reality, but seeks to achieve its effect using shapes, forms, colors, and textures. this looks like a German floor turned Picasso awesomeness.... i applaud the artwork portrayed on my screen by an artist that has a beautiful mind full of creativity, i cant even identify a single flaw,Awesome work from an awesome deviant of incredible artistry .....art .....is .....life .... amayah360 hobbyist-photographer :)

This is one of the most intriguing DD features I've seen in quite a while and I didn't even know the assemblage category existed on DA. Excellent work and very thought-provoking. Thank you for bringing attention to this issue and congrats on the well deserved daily deviation!

Every time I see a photo of a dead bird, rotting so we can see its belly stuffed with useless plastic, I feel so ANGRY :pissed: and SAD... :sniff: :tears: :cries:

Thank you again and congrats on the DD. :iconcongratsddplz: Hopefully it inspires at least some people not to throw their garbage around outdoors... :fingerscrossed:

Very interesting work. In fact, this could be a pic taken at a history museum in 50th century (In the course of some excavations, archaeologists found certain remains of strange utensils dating to the 21st century. They tried to put the pieces together and then tried to determine their purpose...) ;-)

Oh wow, interesting idea, I did not think of that! Very cool, I may be some kind of "modern archaeologist" of human pollution...

Very nice! I dislike these plastic things. It is so good to use them again as an art work.
